What happened in Roshn Saudi League’s matchweek 22

Cristiano Ronaldo netted a brace for Al Nassr, Al Ittihad’s Marcelo Grohe became a record breaker and Al Shabab claimed the Riyadh derby spoils against holders Al Hilal in an absorbing matchweek 22 from Roshn Saudi League.

AL ITTIHAD 3-0 DAMAC
Leaders Al Ittihad continued their excellent form with a confident victory against Damac which witnessed their goalkeeper, Grohe, attain the Pro League record for most clean sheets in a season.
Goals from Bruno Henrique, Romarinho and Ahmed Hegazi secured a fourth-consecutive top-flight win. This was also a landmark 15 shutout from their Brazilian shot stopper, this term.
Al Ittihad retained top spot, while Damac sit seventh.
AL ADALAH 0-5 AL NASSR
Ronaldo and Talisca both doubled up in Al Nassr’s strong victory at promoted Al Adalah.
The Portugal superstar’s penalty made it 1-0 at the break, before four further goals followed.
Al Nassr remain second and Al Adalah stay 15th.
AL BATIN 2-0 AL WEHDA
Al Batin’s spirited fight against relegation continued with victory against promoted Al Wehda.
Renzo Lopez and Andre Bukia struck in either half to make it two triumphs from their previous three run-outs.
Al Batin stay bottom, though the gap to safety is now five points. Al Wehda are 13th.
ABHA 1-1 AL TAAWOUN
Quick-fire goals past the hour mark saw the spoils shared between Abha and Al Taawoun.
Amine Attouchi opened the scoring for the hosts on 63 minutes. A swift leveller was produced by Fahad Al Rashidi.
Abha are 11th and Al Taawoun remain fifth.
AL TAI 2-2 AL RAED
Al Tai and Al Raed played out a rollercoaster content.
Al Raed twice took the lead through Alexandru Mitrita and Mohamed Fouzair, but were pegged back both times by Guy Mbenza’s double.
Al Raed are ninth, one place behind Al Tai in eighth.
AL FATEH 2-0 AL KHALEEJ
Second-half strikes from Mourad Batna and Firas Al Buraikan returned Al Fateh to winning ways, at Al Khaleej’s expense.
Batna found the bottom corner on 65 minutes, before Al Buraikan blasted in an 11th league goal of the campaign in injury time.
Al Fateh sit sixth, while Al Khaleej are 14th.
AL SHABAB 3-0 AL HILAL
Second-half goals from Hussain Al Qahtani, Cristian Guanca and substitute Hattan Bahebri saw Al Shabab past 10-man Al Hilal.
Friday’s Riyadh Derby burst into life after the break, with a pair of low finishes either side of the hour mark. Gustavo Cuellar would then see red for the designated visitors, prior to ex-Al Hilal winger Bahebri sealing it with a composed finish during injury time.
Al Shabab jumped back into third, at fourth-placed Al Hilal’s expense.
