Al Ittihad trio of Nuno, Coronado and Grohe dominate March’s Monthly Awards, presented by Roshn Real Estate

Al Ittihad’s rise to top spot in Roshn Saudi League was reflected with a treble in March’s Monthly Awards, presented by Roshn Real Estate.
The Saudi Professional League’s technical team selected Igor Coronado as Best Player, Nuno Espirito Santo as Best Coach and Marcelo Grohe – for the second-successive month – as Best Goalkeeper. Solid displays from Ettifaq’s Saad Al Mousa, meanwhile, saw him be awarded the Best Promising Player prize.
Brazilian playmaker Coronado recorded three assists and one goal from matchweek 19-21. Nuno oversaw three wins from three outings to an aggregate score of 9-1, ensuring he claimed the gong for the first time in The Kingdom.
Grohe moved onto 14 clean sheets for the campaign – levelling the Pro League record – with shut outs against promoted Al Khaleej and in the summit clash with Al Nassr. Centre-back Al Mousa, 20, started all three matches for Ettifaq.
This is the fifth-consecutive season that Saudi Pro League has undertaken Monthly Awards for Best Promising Player, Goalkeeper, Coach and Player. The technical team includes: Turki Al-Sultan, Sultan Al-Lihyani, Khaled Al-Shaneef, Manaf Abu Shqair and Obaidullah Al-Issa.
Their selections are based on a number of technical and statistical criteria, as provided by Opta – the league’s statistical partner.
